Proposing a new intro and Events section

I'm a connected contributor with a declared COI, and I'd like to suggest some improvements to the article. I have already received feedback in support of the edits from an experience editor. Those comments can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Revirvlkodlaku#Seeking_input_on_proposed_edits_to_the_C3_Presents_article

I would like to make the first paragraph more concise to bring it in line with most other Wikipedia articles. I'm also proposing that the events section be moved above the History section so that the list of festivals in the intro isn't necessary. The suggested intro section is:

C3 Presents is a producer and promoter of major, multi-day, music festivals and events held in multiple countries. The company is based in Austin, Texas[1] where they book, own, and operate multiple music venues.[2] C3 Presents was founded in Austin in 2007 and has been owned by parent company Live Nation Entertainment since 2014.[3]

I would like to propose removing the list of festivals for accuracy. The list is not comprehensive and some of the festivals that are listed are no longer held. With the list removed and the summary paragraph of festival highlights moved into the Events section, the new section would look like this:

C3 Presents produces annual festivals that include Lollapalooza (globally)[1], Austin City Limits Music Festival[2], Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival[3], Governors Ball[4],  Two Step Inn[5], Innings Festival[6], Sea.Hear.Now[7], Shaky Knees Festival[8], Oceans Calling Festival[9], Railbird Festival[10] and many more.

C3 also books and promotes over1,000 shows nationwide in venues including Stubb's BBQ (sole promoter) and the Moody Amphitheater in Austin, Emo's (C3 owned and operated) and Historic Scoot Inn (C3 owned and operated). The company purchased the historic blues venue Stubb's in 2022[11] and has partnered with the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy to book shows in the Moody Amphitheater in Austin's Waterloo Park.[12]

In 2018, C3 Presents and parent company Live Nation entered into a partnership with the Oak View Group to develop a 15,000 seat arena on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. The Moody Center opened in May 2022 and is the home of UT basketball as well as music and entertainment events booked by C3.[13][14][15]

I think the addition of owned venues and partnerships is beneficial.
Is the shortened festival list all active festivals?

Thanks for the feedback. The shortened festivals list isn't all active festivals. The problem with an attempt at a comprehensive list will be maintaining accuracy. The current list on the site includes festivals that are no longer active and that will increase as things come and go. For the short list I provided I tried to include the major festivals that are not likely to become inactive any time soon.

Proposing change to the History section and a new Community Involvement section

I'm a connected contributor with a declared COI (see the section above) and I have a few additional improvement to suggest for this article. Any feedback is appreciated.

The list of cities with offices and the statistic about the number of concerts/events are inaccurate and not cited, so I'd like to suggest removing both. I also think the History section could use an explanation of how the thee "C"s in C3 came together, so I've added that.

C3 was founded by Charles Attal, Charlie Jones and Charlie Walker in 2007(2) and headquartered in Austin, TX, with offices in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and New Orleans. The company also promotes more than 1,100 concerts annual in arenas, casinos and clubs throughout North America.

C3 was founded by Charles Attal, Charlie Jones and Charlie Walker in 2007(2) and headquartered in Austin, TX. Before founding C3, Attal and Jones worked at Capital Sports & Entertainment, which produced the Austin City Limits Music Festival and, in 2005, licensed and revived the Lollapalooza Festival as a permanent event in Chicago’s Grant Park. Walker joined them in 2007 after leaving Live Nation, and together the three established C3 Presents as a new company, distinct from Capital Sports & Entertainment, which then assumed production of both the Austin City Limits Music Festival and Lollapalooza.


I would also like to suggest a new section called "Community Involvement" that describes the company's musician-focused philanthropy. My proposed text is below.

In 2023, C3 Presents became an official partner of the music business program at Huston–Tillotson University and provided scholarship funds as the program launched.[1] The company provides financial support for the SIMS Foundation, a non-profit that provides mental health and addiction recovery services to the Austin music community[2] and directs surplus food supplies from events to local organizations fighting hunger.[3][4]
The company also contributes a portion of proceeds from the annual Austin City Limits Festival to the Austin Parks Foundation[5], a contribution that totaled $8.1 million in 2023.[6]
In 2021, the company created the Lollapalooza Arts Education Fund, creating a $2.2 million fund to support arts education in Chicago Public Schools. Funds are to be distributed to schools between 2021 and 2026,[7]

Proposing corrections for the Infobox and Artist Management section

I have two final suggestions to improve the accuracy of this article. First, the Infobox incorrectly lists Shay Jones as a founder. No source lists any founders other than Charles Attal, Charlie Jones and Charlie Walker, so removing Shay Jones from the list would remove an error.

The second suggestion involves the Artist Management section. Shifts in artist management are not usually covered in media and listing specific artists in this section will cause the page to become easily out of date. I'd like to suggest the following change:

Hi@Meepmeepyeet! Thanks for correcting the Infobox section on founders. Can you elaborate on what is "too promotional" in the other part of my request? I wasn't proposing any addition or change to the existing content in this section, only that the list of managed artists is not cited, incorrect, and would be hard to keep correct if updated with a correct list.
