This article is actually about another species

[edit]

The pictures and most of the text appear to be of Butia odorata, a former synonym which was split again from B. capitata by Noblick in 2011. The Wikipedia article on Butia recognises B. odorata, but conflates the distribution of B. capitata with that of B. odorata, as well as hardiness in the prose text. Cultivated plants in Europe & the USA are almost always B. odorata. I will create a new article about B. odorata and move the text and pics there, then write up some new text about the correct species. See also article on Spanish wikipedia, Soares 2015.
