Real estate values?
[edit]Forgive me for not knowing the convention, does "office space pricing at Burj Khalifa reached US$4,000 per sq ft (over US$43,000 per m²" refer to condominium sale prices, or yearly rent, or something else? If it is condominium sales, are there also annual assessments? Could someone add a clarification to the article's text? Thanks!

Overview[edit]The Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Since its topping out in 2009, it has held the title of the tallest structure and building in the world. Engineering and Design[edit]Foundation and Piling[edit]The tower is supported by a reinforced concrete mat 3.7 metres (12.1 ft) thick, which sits on 192 bored reinforced concrete piles. Each pile is 1.5 metres (4.9 ft) in diameter and 43 metres (141 ft) long. A cathodic protection system is used to prevent corrosion from the saline groundwater. Wind Engineering and Vortex Shedding[edit]To mitigate the effects of high-altitude winds, the tower features 27 setbacks arranged in a spiral pattern. This "confuses the wind" by ensuring the building has a different cross-section at every height, disrupting the formation of organized wind vortices.
Building Maintenance and Systems[edit]Plumbing and Water Management[edit]The Burj Khalifa's water system supplies an average of 946,000 L (249,907 US gal) of water per day.
Lighting and Fireworks[edit]The building is famous for its massive LED facade and annual New Year's Eve pyrotechnics.

Mission Impossible
[edit]The section on climbing/BASE jumping could include a mention of the use of Burj Khalifa in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2015) in which Tom Cruise scaled the outside of the building some 115 floors up. ~2026-41247-32 (talk) 15:35, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
