[edit]This disambig page currently implies that local offices of news agencies are to be referred to in plural as bureaux with an x. But how do news agencies and others referring to them really spell the word? (plural form of bureau)
(Because both searching for bureaux and for bureaus give hits for bureau on Google, I use -bureau to filter out bureau in the following test searches:)

American Farm Bureau Federation
[edit]The American Farm Bureau Federation lede has a link to this disambiguation page, but none of the entries here fit that organization. Another entry is needed, but what should it be? Moving the furniture
[edit]The bureau is a bit confusing, so per the 1952 book by Gloag, "A Short Dictionary of Furniture" (pp. 154-158):
- "Bureau" is a piece of furniture with hinged writing space of flap resting at an angle when closed.
- "Bureau bedstead" is a Murphy bed that looks like a bureau when closed.
- "Bureau bookcase" is a combination of a bureau and bookcase.
- "Bureau cabinet" is a combination of a bureau and display shelves.
- "Bureau dressing table" is a combination of a dressing table and writing desk. Later models by Chippendale lost the actual bureau.
- "Bureau table is a type of a kneehole desk. Confusingly, it does not contain a bureau.
