Bullfighting is a central cultural aspect of both Spanish and Portuguese culture and history. Although both countries share a large part of their history together, a similar language and almost equal culture: the Spanish bullfighting style and the Portuguese bullfighting style are, in fact, different. One can only understand this by attending to each and see.

About El Cid as bullfighter

First of all, there is a modern spanish bullfighter with the nickname "El Cid", but if we talk about Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, the historical character, there aren´t any proper sources that confirm that he was a bullfighter (or at least, related to the actual bullfighter term). There are some paintings from Goya but there are more artistic than accurated. DreAnt (talk) 00:57, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Unbalanced section about funding

This section lacks sources for several claims, and seems to give undue weight to the economic benefits of bullfighting, including some editorializing about public sources of funding. Sittgenstein (talk) 13:05, 21 August 2026 (UTC)
