I still have the jacket ;)

[edit]

I've kept the jacket for those wondering. I still wear it occasionally, but it's mostly used for developing an automated firing system. I'll put more squibs on it and do a demo video ;)

I also want to put up a figure of squibs with exploding down feathers instead of fake blood to simulate a gunshot wound on a down jacket. Will do so when I have time. Stay tuned. Adenosine Triphosphate (talk) 00:58, 3 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Do you do special effects for movies? I'm curious how you know about these. Félix An (talk) 00:28, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hey! Yes and no, it's not my main job per se. I was thinking of doing some Youtube videos to go more in depth, and maybe a few tutorial/consulting type pages. I really want to spend some more time on it but I'm quite busy. What do you like to know more about? It seems like I didn't explain it that well in the article ;) Adenosine Triphosphate (talk) 11:07, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I would love to see some sort of documentation or tutorial on how this effect can be accomplished! It would be very useful for independent filmmakers and wannabe ones like me. 😂 Since Wikipedia is not suitable for tutorials, you could write it on the sister website Wikibooks, which has plenty of tutorials! ah interesting, i was thinking of setting up a wordpress website for this. i could look into wikibooks, i've never thought of it, thanks! i think the main thing needing emphasis is safety. another thing i find many people overlook is how the whole aesthetics and preparation work with the clothing. been meaning to do this for the last year or two now, when i started with this article. Thanks to @Phlsph7's prompt review, i'll work on finding more reliable sources or remove the text until a suitable reference is found, and additionally fix the typos.

i'll work on these asap when i can find some free time.

much appreciated for the time and effort. Adenosine Triphosphate (talk) 10:27, 29 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

hey @Adenosine Triphosphate! noticed you've had this up for gan for a while. i just want to let you know that if i were reviewing this, i'd still fail this article. there are still entire paragraphs (let alone sentences) that are completely unsourced (in the 'personal protective equipment' section), the lead contains citations (including citations not found in the body, which is a red flag), there's an unorthodox miscellaneous section, the academic citations aren't organised in sfn format (not strictly speaking necessary for gan but if you want to take this to featured article it will be, and it helps make sure the citations are correct and easier to organise), and a few cits still contain web links instead of publisher names. this isn't to downplay the work you've done, it's genuinely very good, easily in the upper percentiles of work here, but it still falls short of the criteria. i hope i haven't been too discouraging, really wishing you all the best!--Plifal (talk) 13:09, 14 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hey @Plifal thanks for your comments! to be honest i haven't had much time to work on it since the last major edit. Thanks for pointing out the sections that need improvement. i think all of these points are straightforward fixes, i'll work on that some time (it'll be on my to-do list). your pointers are very helpful and clear, i really appreciate it - it will make the article better. if you think it's a good idea to withdraw from GAN before the problems are fixed, please let me know and renominate later. cheers and much appreciated. no worries! really it depends on you, and how much time you have. considering the length it's been at gan it may be fine to fix it when you have the time rather than go through the hassle of having to wait again. if you manage to go through my points before someone else comes to review it then ping me and i'll take it on. happy editing!--Plifal (talk) 14:52, 14 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
yep, i see. let me see what i can do in the meantime. it's my first gan so your comments are much appreciated1 Adenosine Triphosphate (talk) 15:04, 14 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
