Gawain defending la Cote Male Taile

Hello, I just wish to highlight something about the section regarding Malory's depiction of La Cote Male Taile that confuses me; in the article, it says that the knight that speaks on Brunor's behalf is Sir Gawain, but in every version of Le Morte d'Arthur that I've been able to find, it is Sir Lamorak and Sir Gaheris that do this;

"Sir, said Sir Lamorak and Sir Gaheris, it were well done to make him knight; for him beseemeth well of person and of countenance, that he shall prove a good man, and a good knight, and a mighty" https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Le_Morte_d%27Arthur/Volume_I/Book_IX/Chapter_I

Is there simply a version of Malory's take on this tale that I'm simply not aware of?, or could the one who originally wrote this perhaps have conflated Gaheris with his more well known brother, and forget Lamorak alltogether?
