[edit]That page provides his birth name as "Sholem Yankev Abramovich" his father's name is given as "Chaim Moyshe Broyde" but unless/until that page is updated to reflect that "Broyde" was indeed part of the birth name it is best not to include here.
And to further clarify, as I may have less time this week, I have no issue with anyone changing this back if Mendele Mocher Sforim is appropriately updated, but a conflict between the information given in an index and a linked article should never happen.
Now Chaim Moyshe Broyde could potentially be an entry under MOS:DABNAME/WP:APORED but that is a separate question. ~2025-31245-28 (talk) 03:50, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
