Possible change to the title of this article
[edit]This article is currently named in accordance the Wikipedia:WikiProject UK Railways naming conventions for British rolling stock allocated a TOPS number. Merger proposal
[edit]The pages for classes EB1 and EF1 contain almost exactly the same text and refer to almost identical locos. Is there any reason at all why they should be separate ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kjhskj75 (talk • contribs) 14:18, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- Technically speaking, the ten locos were built to the EF1 spec, and one was rebuilt to EB1 spec for banking purposes on the Worsborough Incline. The other nine were supposed to have been rebuilt too, but this did not occur; and the sole rebuild never actually took up the intended banking duties, but was used as a depot shunter at Ilford. --Redrose64 (talk) 17:34, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- Agree with merge - some cleanup needed, and coverage in same place would help with this - eg British Rail Class EB1 states in infobox : 1 built but article states when nos. 3-12 were all classified EB1 - this is confusing. I am assuming that the merge results in a more understandable/consistent article - there is a case for separate articles - but not at the current level of content.
