– per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC - both articles are unnecessarily disambiguated. Both are about subjects which are actively in service (or under test) in the UK, whereas the other pages with different disambiguators are either never used or out-of-service designators. Fundamental problem of misnaming of Wikipedia articles on British locomotive classes post privatisation.

If the locomotive class is named for its owner the correct name of the article is the Rail Operations Group Class 93 Locomotive or slight variance thereof. You have a major credibility problem in persisting in calling these locomotive classes "British Rail" when BR went out of existence more than 30 years ago. The substance of this discussion must go much further than than what is being proposed so far and affect a large number of related pages apart from this one. This is a long-standing naming convention - “Rail Operations Group Class 93” makes zero sense if, for example, GBRf purchased some of these too. And what would you call the Class 170?

British Rail introduced the TOPS system which is still used to define the classes. So its the ownership of the system, not the locos. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 14:24, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
