What is a DEMU? Doidimais Brasil 19:34, September 11, 2005 (UTC).

A DEMU is a diesel-electric multiple unit - a non-locomotive-huled, self=propelled train powered by a diesel engine with electric transmission, which can be coupled to others of the same or similar type, the whole coupled formation being controlled by one crew in one of the coupled units.
