Departmental service until 2002 - Source?

Currently, this article states in the info box that these units were in service from 1957 to 2002. However, there are two problems here:

1. These units were only in passenger (and parcels) service until 1992 (Source: https://www.railcar.co.uk/type/class-114/operations). The only unit in service after 1992 was a departmental unit, used for Automatic Train Protection testing. However, other Wikipedia articles about similar multiple units (such as the British Rail Class 117 or British Rail Class 501 articles) either list departmental service separately, or exclude it from the info box altogether.
2. Furthermore, I cannot find a source stating that the Automatic Train Protection testing unit remained in use until 2002. The main body of the article does cite igg.org.uk (https://www.igg.org.uk/rail/00-app3-4/ap3-dmu.htm); however, this page contains no references the unit having been withdrawn in 2002. The railcar.co.uk page does state that this unit remained in service for "a few years" after 1992; however, it does not state 2002 specifically as the date of withdrawal. There is another Railcar.co.uk page that mentions this unit (https://www.railcar.co.uk/type/class-114/non-passenger-use), and this points to the "Train Testing" website (a dead link, archived at https://web.archive.org/web/20230130074559/https://www.traintesting.com/atp_demonstrator.htm) - but again, this page makes no reference to the unit having remained in service until 2002.

So, is anyone aware of any sources confirming that one unit did indeed remain in departmental service until 2002? KingsIndian (talk) 11:56, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
