Doesn't the Briscoe group also own two other store chains? Living & Giving and Urban Loft?

Notability

[edit]

Briscoes is a major retailing chain in New Zealand. The article shows the age of the company (back to 1781). Thus is it notable by its size and age, as well as market share. Thus it is not clear what the justification is for the tag inserted by User:BMRR claiming that the article lacks notability. --Pakaraki (talk) 07:14, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

As was recently pointed out to me by another Wikipedian from New Zealand, merely being large, old, and popular does not make a company "notable" by Wikipedia standards. The guidelines at WP:CORP state that there must be significant coverage in reliable secondary sources in order to establish notability. Since this article is completely unsourced, notability (by Wikipedia standards) has not yet been established. Adding some good references would fix that. :-) –BMRR (talk) 17:06, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
