GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

  1. Is it well written?
    A. The prose is clear, concise and understandable to an appropriately broad audience, and the spelling and grammar are correct:
    See below
    B. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, list incorporation and table accessibility:
    Follows guidelines above
  2. Is it verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check?
    A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:
    References are laid out correctly
    B. Reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose):
All claims are backed up by a source
    C. It contains no original research:
    Spot check here
There are still some issues with the sourcing. You can respond either here or at the spot check's page. Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 03:17, 6 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
    D. It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:
WP:EARWIG's highest percentage is a 9.1%. No copyvio here.
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. It addresses the main aspects of the topic:
    B. It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style):
Addresses the main aspects of the subject without going into unnecessary detail.
  4. Is it neutral?
It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each:
    Article is neutral.
  5. Is it stable?
It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute:
    No edit wars
  6. Is it illustrated, if possible, by images?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content:
    B. Images are relevant to the topic, have suitable captions, and have alt text:
Images have valid licenses and captions, but they require WP:ALT text.
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
@Wikipedian12512: There are still some issues with the prose. If there is no update or progress within a week, I will fail the article. Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 03:21, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I'll be reviewing this article for the October GA backlog. If you have any questions or I biff anything, please tell me! Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 02:34, 6 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Edlectro28: I just saw your user page and how you have a terminal illness. I'm sorry to hear about your conditions. Just to check, are you able to respond to this review and any issues I may bring up? Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 03:02, 6 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Dragonhawk12, @Edlectro28: I may be able to take
this over in Edlectro’s stead. I’ve fixed the failed source, have recently watched the episode, and have some interest in it. Feel free to boot me off if Edlectro comes back. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 00:26, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Added alt text and fixed the source. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 00:27, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
If Edlectro does not respond within a day, I will feel comfortable with handing the review off to you. Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 00:28, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
A message on Ed’s talk page makes it seem that they will have more important matters to focus on. Wishing them a happy time. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 00:58, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Read-through

[edit]

This is a read-through of the article to find any issues within the prose. Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 03:20, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

General issues

[edit]
  • The article refers to the characters with long names (Steve Holt, George Michael, etc.). I have never watched this show. Are these their full first names, and are they referred to by these names in the show? If not, you can just refer to them by their first name.

Lead

[edit]
  • The lead can definitely be expanded with info from "Themes and analysis" and "Release and reception". The fact that Hale did not actually swear during one scene probably is not important to include in the lead.

Plot

[edit]

(Note: This is all coming from someone who has never watched this show)

  • "Michael is making cornballs when his son George Michael tells him he is too busy to be making cornballs and going on bike rides with his dad, and Michael spends some of the episode trying to bond with son.": I can kind of understand what the sentence is trying to say, but it is still awkward. Did Michael ask his son to make cornballs with him, but George declined, saying he is too busy to spend time with him?
  • "...and Michael spends some of the episode trying to bond with son": Can you clarify what he does during the episode to spend time with his son?
  • "...got the part titled "Stand-in for Steve Holt."": This could work, but if you want it to be more professional, you can instead say George Michael got a role as an understudy for Steve Holt.
  • "...Lucille allows him to stay at the model home": What model home? Can you clarify what it is?

Production

[edit]
  • "three solid words [in my] cuss vocabulary": should be "[in his]".
  • 'nicest guys in showbusiness,': Should use quotation marks instead of an apostrophe.
  • "The Cornballer, an invention seen in the episode that was created by George Sr. in the 1970s,": "an invention seen in the episode that was created by George Sr. in the 1970s" is not needed, as people who watched the episode/read the article from the start already knows what the Cornballer is.

Themes and analysis

[edit]
  • "A Shakespearean play is being performed in this episode...": Remove "being".

Release and reception

[edit]
  • "...previous episode, Top Banana...": Unitalicize "Top Banana" and put it in quotes.
  • "which often ‘become a bit convoluted.’": Replace apostrophes with quotation marks
