Hello, I would like to request some changes to improve neutrality and balance in this article.

Lead section

  • Change the first sentence so that it introduces Gabriel as "a Lebanese-American conservative activist, author, and founder of ACT for America" instead of emphasizing "critic of Islam." Information about criticism of Islam can remain in the body of the article with reliable sources.

ACT for America section

  • Keep the existing reliably sourced criticisms describing the group as anti-Muslim.
  • Add a short neutral sentence summarizing the organization’s self-described mission, with citations to ACT for America – Our Mission and About Brigitte. This will give readers both external criticism and the group’s own stated goals.

Critical reception / Islam-related focus

  • Retain all existing reliably sourced content on her comments about Islam.
  • Add additional reliably sourced material on her other areas of activism (e.g., national security, foreign policy, immigration, constitutional issues) to avoid giving undue weight to only one topic.

The goal is not to remove sourced criticism but to ensure proportionality and neutrality per WP:NPOV and WP:UNDUE. 106.209.241.35 (talk) 11:29, 12 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Please review WP:EDITXY; edit requests need to be much more specific. Day Creature (talk) 13:24, 12 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Updated photo

[edit]

The infobox photo was dark and blurry. Editor Powerviki (talk · contribs) changed it to a newer/different photo in September 2025, which is significantly better; however, the crop was rather broad, and the contrast on facial highlights was 'blown out'. I've re-cropped the image, increased the hue saturation a bit, and toned down the gamma/contrast, and put it in place in the article.

I think Powerviki's original photo was a superior photo, it just needed some small adjustments. That photo was stable since Sept 2025, so it wasn't broadly considered a "Bad photo", as editor Sharnadd (talk · contribs) characterized it when it was reverted to the previous dark and blurry photo.

If there's any thoughts, criticisms, etc about the new photo - please comment here, so we can collaboratively find a consensus. I did a deep search on google and there's just no alternatives that have an appropriate license, so working with Powerviki's contribution, which is overall a pleasant, dynamic image, seems ideal. cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 21:51, 21 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

its more the photo looks more like sajal aly and not the individual. The old photo bore a resemblance to her Sharnadd (talk) 06:43, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
I looked up sajal aly, and I don't see a resemblance with the new photo and that person, regrettably. The old photo is from a decade ago; the current photo is from only seven months ago, so it better represents how she looks now. cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 06:58, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
cab twitter profile photos be used. Hers actually looks like her Sharnadd (talk) 07:21, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
If there's no explicit copyright or release presented on/with the photo, we have to presume it is copyright protected. Her profile photo was almost certainly taken by a professional photographer. The only way to determine copyright would be to contact her or the photographer. cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 07:59, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Name change?

[edit]

This article should provide information on Qahwaji/Gabriel's name change.

Presumably she had a reason to change her name, and the fact that her new name sounds more "American" would seem relevant to her "pro-America/anti-'radical Islam'" politics. Spanghew2fs (talk) 15:10, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
