Error on Jean being his sister.

[edit]

Just to inform readers, I am presently editing a book by Brian's aunt. So I was surprised to read that he had an older sister, Jean, born in 1941. He had three siblings: Stephen, Kathryn, and Caroline. His mother, Ethel, was born in 1931, so could not possibly be the mother of Jean. She would had to have had her at age ten. So Jean Ray is not related to him in any way and had nothing to do with launching his career or spurring on his interests. According to his aunt, he was a born performer and used to use his siblings to put on shows for his family from the age of eight.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.156.186.173 (talk) 21:31, 10 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

At https://www.facebook.com/brianrayguitar/posts/my-late-sister-jean-w-jim-jean-on-art-linketters-house-party-in-or-around-1962-h/167091663342506/ Brian mentions Jean being his sister on his verified Facebook account. Jean's obituary also lists a Brian Ray as a half-brother at https://web.archive.org/web/20131208031259/http://archive.durangoherald.com/asp-bin/obit_generation.asp?month=8&year=2007#Jean%20Ray. The "half-" part is what probably caused this confusion. Gadd9 (talk) 03:04, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
