No. Stop being ridiculous, we are trying to keep this article accurate. 2601:248:5181:A890:1505:F7F2:7E1:F768 (talk) 05:31, 27 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
He's an idiot. That pretty much sums it up. That's accurate. ~2026-18752-93 (talk) 10:12, 26 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Approval ratings

[edit]

It seems odd that the M3 poll -- which was commissioned by a right-wing outlet let by Johnson's political opponent -- is featuring in the head as evidence of his historically low polling, when other contemporaneous polling (like this one) show that he's popular with his base, but most Chicagoans have mixed views. Curious why the Newsweek (hardly the best source) write-up of a single poll is getting such prominence? Davidwave4 (talk) 00:51, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Never heard of M3, and it's not a reputable polling company. I'm not sure what the standard is for these things on wikipedia, but it seems like this poll was designed specifically for the purpose of creating the "worst mayor ever" narrative, not supported by any other poll.
The alternative explanation is simply that he did such a great job from February to June that he had the biggest improvement ever.

Thanks for pointing this out @Davidwave4. You're right, Newsweek after 2013 is not reliable (see WP:NEWSWEEK - actually that source was no longer referenced anyway. I deleted the paragraph with the M3 poll because none of the sources were reliable and independent. See diff. Lijil (talk) 08:46, 7 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
