Confusion re different villages sharing same name

[edit]

There is a discussion here regarding an apparent situation whereby the 2011 Census of India records two villages in Mawal taluka sharing the same Brahmanwadi name. It is probably worth bearing in mind that the census says there were 187 villages in the taluka at that time, including six that were uninhabited - details at List of villages in Mawal taluka - so Category:Villages in Mawal taluka should contain 181 inhabited villages + possibly one or more of the six that are uninhabited. I will follow up on this shortly as I have a theory but, of course, this is all related to interpretation of primary sources, which is rarely a good idea. - Sitush (talk) 14:04, 31 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
