Ann Ayers

[edit]

The movie was dedicated to the memory of Ann Ayers. Who was she? Rklawton 19:37, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

acrotomophilia

[edit]

The claim that "The film revolves around the sexual fetishism of acrotomophilia." is ludicrous and very far-fedged. It's merely one small facet of the storyline at most. The only reason amputism is involved is so that the amputated Helena could not escape from Nick. If it would revolve around "the sexual fetishism of acrotomophilia" the amputations would not be total (arms and legs) and Nick would not make love to a non-amputated woman seen by the amputee. Either remove this claim, or state that it is bad gossip at best. 195.64.95.116 19:56, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Acrotomophilia is as individualized as breast fetishism. Just as some men fantasize only about unusually large breasts and others about unusually small breasts, amputee fetishists fantasize about a range of possible amputations, including finger and mid-hand amputations, wrist disarticulation, below-elbow amputation, elbow disarticulation, above-elbow amputation, and shoulder disarticulation. And that's only discussing one arm.
As to its connection to amputee fetishism, this movie is mentioned sometimes in discussions of amputation fetishism. This is not a film about amputation fetishism, but about power and weakness. --68.35.127.124 (talk) 23:58, 22 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome to your opinion, but this looks like original research, and it's not appropriate for WIkipedia. FInd a (reputable) reference discussing this, and then it can be added back to the article. —johndburger 02:50, 23 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Plot

[edit]

Perhaps the plot section could be expanded? Been ages since I've seen the film but wasn't it in the end revealed that much of the events were imagined by the surgeon? (with proper spoiler warnings of course) 88.148.207.23 (talk) 11:44, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes some kind of spoiler warning would be good.. --Frantik (talk) 11:22, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Barry Chuckle

[edit]

Barry Chuckle as Graeme the anaesthetist - I think someone is having a laugh there! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.110.242.127 (talk) 16:28, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have removed these 2 people i.e. the Chuckle brothers from this article. --62.64.173.242 (talk) 23:38, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
