On the coast?

- There are many factors which affect where the coastline is at different times. For example, the south coast has risen by 50 metres in the last 500,000 years, a backwash from Africa moving north and raising the Alps. The Anglian Ice Age around 450,000 years ago destroyed the permanent connection between Britain and the Continent by the Weald–Artois Anticline, but Doggerland has connected the east coast to the Continent for long periods since then. However, it would not have affected Boxgrove on the south coast. Archeological evidence tells us where the coastline was at different periods. Dudley Miles (talk) 22:16, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
