Missing 'See Also' references
[edit]Granted, this article is about the scientific instrument. However, neglecting the gating function (or in cases where S/N is large), it's essentially a FIR filter with coefficients bi = 1/(N+1). See 'Finite Impulse Response#Moving Average'. There is also another related article explicitly about moving average (analog) filters here: 'Moving Average'. I have also worked with 'gated boxcar averagers' with exponentially decay weighting.
I think a 'See Also' section should be added to this article. Patrick (talk) 19:10, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
Broken Link
[edit]The 'What is a Boxcar Averager?' link is broken. I cannot offer an alternative at the moment. Perhaps someone else can? Patrick (talk) 19:46, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
