I think that St. Jude Medical, Inc. should be added to the list of major competitors.
Source: Yahoo Finance: BSX Company Profile. St. Jude is listed along with
Medtronic,Inc., and Johnson & Johnson. Why is there not more information about this

Ray Elliot is the new CEO as of July 13, 2009. Additionally, Paul Laviolette left the company at the end of 2008 to join SV Life Sciences.Pelle412 (talk) 19:36, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Hank Kucheman is the acting CEO according to this. Also, I think the $600,000 fine doesn't belong in a short article. Its prominence implies that you really need to know this about the company. Improving the article's references and remove the citation banners

The Boston Scientific article currently has two banners, and it clearly requires significant improvement. To start, the references section violates MOS:REFERENCES and WP:PRIMARY. To address these issues, the Bibliography, Notes, and References sections should be reformatted into one section titled References. I suggest replacing as many primary sources as possible with secondary sources. There are plenty of reliable sources both online and in library databases.

In the next few weeks, I'll share the suggested reference reformatting updates. Then, since the community has requested help with adding better sources to the banner, I'll add independent, reliable sources as needed. I investigated further, the references were worst than I thought. The sources are mostly primary sources. I'm going to reformat the references and replace all the primary sources with independent, secondary sources. Hi @Grand'mere Eugene, I have another company that has a fascinating history, but it needs some work removing promotional content so we can remove the banners. Taking a look at all the sections, the Boston Scientific mergers & acquisitions table at the end of the History section, the Organizational culture section, the Locations section, and the Subsidiaries section have very limited sourcing and are promotional content. What are your thoughts on removing the content?

Second, I did most of the heavy lifting, reformatting the references into a Wikipedia-compliant references section. I also replaced most of the primary sources, but am open to your advice on how to improve the references section. Hi Chefmikesf, I favor deleting the sections you mentioned above, which all rely upon internal documents and are obviously promotional, and either cited to internal documents or not cited at all. I'll delete those sections entirely. But the bigger problem is the odd formatting of references-- it's hard to fact check when citations are unusable. I agree that the references section still needs work; if you look at the revision history, the old version was terrible with almost all primary sources and few inline citations. I'll start by finding sources for the sections you added [citation needed] tags and add content snippets to paywall references for your review.

I'm still unsure if the organizational culture section has a place, given the lack of available secondary sources. I did my best with the workplace culture awards, but the rest of the content is derived from primary sources. Do you have any suggestions? You've made good progress with the sourcing, and today I took a meat cleaver to the org culture section, so it passes muster without the previously bloated tone. There are still some citations that point bafflingly to the article itself... I'll have more time this weekend to be more specific, but if it's any consolation, your revisions finding secondary sources have been sterling... getting close to removing the "third party" tag! In a couple of marathon sessions, I finished checking the sources, and I removed the 3rd party tag. There are still some Boston Scientific company sources, which is probably okay, and 4 cn tags, which perhaps you can either supply, or remove the un-cited text.

The mergers sections are big enough to be mind-numbing. Would you consider transforming them into a table? A table would be easier for readers to browse, I think.
