Dating the article’s main photograph

“Early 19th c.” sounds suspiciously early for the photograph, especially given its clarity and the apparent stillness and patience of the horse. Can it be dated more accurately? Mistermuckle (talk) 09:26, 23 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is an extremely important observation, and I'm surprised no one has responded to this comment. My recommendation is to use the publication date, 1904, which is likely much closer to the date of the photo than "early 19th century". --Midnightdreary (talk) 17:05, 16 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
