Origin

Za-ari-masen, please provide WP:RS where it states that the origin of borhani is Bangladesh. I could not find a single WP:RS which points to modern day Bangladesh. A quick search in google shows it is a shared Bengali drink of both Bangladesh and India. Hopefully, this will be a more respectful discussion. (Highpeaks35 (talk) 22:59, 9 May 2019 (UTC))

UserNumber, I am also pinging you. Since you edited this article recently as well. Is this a Bangladeshi originated drink or a Bengali drink? If so, wouldn't Bengal region be the proper source for origin, rather than modern Bangladesh which was founded in 1971? Looking forward to your input. (Highpeaks35 (talk) 23:01, 9 May 2019 (UTC))

Highpeaks35, Borhani originates from modern-day Bangladesh. It did not originate from, nor is it seen as a cultural drink by Indians. Using that same logic, India was founded in 1947 but things which originate from places such as Goa and Mumbai would always be Indian things. Borhani is a part of the culture of Eastern Bengal, modern day Bangladesh.UserNumber (talk) 14:28, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

Furthermore, only a single source claims it's also Indian and that is a blog-style site which is unreliable. Other sites claim it is a good condiment to an Indian meal, not an Indian condiment itself. Even if it is drank by a minority in India, it is not a part of their culture just as noodles is popular in Bangladesh but not a part of Bangladeshi culture per se.UserNumber (talk) 14:32, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
