Split Article

[edit]

I suggest that this article be split into two articles: something along the lines of "BootX (Apple)" and "BootX (Linux)", and replace this page with a disambiguation page. IlliterateSage 20:39, 17 November 2006 (UTC) If that's done, what happens to the Amiga blurb? 66.218.54.163 16:52, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

That has been done.  Atyndall93 | talk  10:49, 17 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Does Mac OS X have a special code for the Apple Computer logo? Junkcops (talk) 22:54, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm not quite sure what you mean by a code. If your looking for where the logo is stored in Mac OS X then I believe that it can be found in some of the kernal files (a google search would help you find it) Foxy Loxy Pounce! 01:07, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

The correct URL still works; the difference is that it doesn't have a / at the end. Guy Harris (talk) 17:39, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Old World ROM

[edit]

On New World Macs, Open Firmware finds BootX and starts it, but what happens on Old World Macs? Is there some software that gets started by the classic Mac OS that either runs BootX or is BootX? (With references, of course.) Guy Harris (talk) 09:08, 10 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Presumably you meant "expand section" banner rather than "update needed" banner. And, yes, it still needs expansion to cover the Old World ROM Macs. I'll leave it to others to decide whether that means it's not a "good article". Guy Harris (talk) 06:41, 15 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
