[edit]I removed the comment about "Peugeot were perhaps the first to bring the factory bodykit back to the fore in 1997". I briefly worked at Ford in 1995/1996, and we had reams of promotional material on our (hideous) RS bodykits for the then-new Ford Mondeo. Advantages?

A lot of tuning companies also add body kits to help with aerodynamics. Examples being Ruf, Gemballa, Brabus, Novitec and Overfinch. Redstoneprime (talk) 08:48, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Some bodykits (not all, mind you) actually help to improve a cars aerodynamics. It's the reason why upgraded cars from the likes of Brabus, Ruf or Novitec often look sportier than your standard Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren or Lamborghini (for example).
