Flora bust

I suggest moving the "Flora bust" to another article or shortening it significantly, as that section about a rather irrelevant work of art (of both unclear provenance and attribution) makes up more than half of the whole article. There are many much more important work of art, expecially from the Italian Renaissance, in that museum which would deserve much greater attention than the "Flora bust". It would be better to improve balance by expanding the rest of the article. If there were a separate article on the Flora bust, it would probably get AFD'd with the result "Merge with Bode Museum" and we'd be right back where we started. Angr (talk) 05:08, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

The Bode Museum on Museum Island in Berlin, Germany, named after its founding director, is a museum of antiquities including sculpture, Byzantine art and numismatics. Designed by Ernst von Ihne and completed in 1904, the building was restored extensively from 1997 to 2006.Photograph: Thomas Wolf

Damage & reconstruction

Like most large buildings in central Berlin, the museum was damaged in Word War II — although German Wiki describes the damages as "comparatively minor" — and was gradually ("schrittweise") restored/reconstructed over a long period (1951-87) during the DDR. The present English article, and today's FP blurb, seem to indicate restoration occurred only in 1997-2006. A more comprehensive history section would seem appropriate. Why not hyphenated?

The website of the museum (in English) uses the name "Bode-Museum" : http://www.smb.museum/en/museums-institutions/bode-museum/about-us/profile.html. A move should be considered; unfortunately I do not have time to look into the matter any further. WikiHannibal (talk) 10:32, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum?

The article states originally called Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum; however, Kulturhistorisches Museum Magdeburg was originally called by that name. Did they both have the same name, or is there a mistake? — 2606:A000:4C0C:E200:68E7:2BD4:D467:E3F9 (talk) 05:25, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
