  • There are a few places where you don't use the Oxford comma, but then places where you do. Recommend consistency.
    • Could you identify the ones without the Oxford comma? (I'm not great at identifying them...)
  • The whole "Early life" section is "He was" sentences. Can you try to revise a few to break-up the repetition.
    • Changed two sentences to "Wicks...".
  • as a junior, and as a senior in 1967 comma isn't needed
    • Done.
  • References:
    • All references appear reliable for what is being cited
    • All references are consistently formatted
    • Spot checks: 2, 4, 6, 8, 13, 14, 18 all look good

Not much to say here, nice work! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 14:44, 10 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Reading this for the first time, the hook seems to be really interesting, but it seems not to have been followed upon on the article. It says "Starting in fourth grade and continuing through college, he was often teammates with quarterback John Strycula". The article could've specified Strycula went to Royal Oak and Utah State, as well. His association with Wicks was never mentioned again in the article aside from that. @Howard the Duck: I added that Strycula went to Royal Oka / Utah State. Does that work? BeanieFan11 (talk) 00:43, 8 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it should. Let me do a proper review by the weekend. Howard the Duck (talk) 10:54, 9 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.
Overall: This is good-to-go. Unlike other gridiron football suggestions, the hook is understandable for the rest of the world. Hook is interesting as a player duo is interesting, more so with high school teammates in California teaming up in Utah of all places. Howard the Duck (talk) 11:03, 14 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
