Nothing has been found of Elix's early life. The AFL reference has him 19 years of age in 1965, when Port Adelaide won the SANFL premiership, so could not have been born in 1944.

Elsa Margaret Elix (nee Hargrave, died 1994), who married Dr Robert Hugo Elix (30 November 1912 – 9 October 1992) on 9 January 1939,^[1] had a son, name not found, on 2 June 1944.^[2] They divorced in 1946.^[3] Doug butler (talk) 07:40, 27 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Doug butler - I think the supposed 1946 birthdate is far too late. Sadly no specific reference beyond the fact one of my uncles went to school with Elix and my uncle was born in 1941/42.

Also, although it's not noted in his article, List of old boys of St Peter's College, Adelaide, claims him as an old boy but as my uncle attended Largs North Primary and Le Fevre Boys' Tech, and apparently Bob left school young, I don't think he attended St Peter's. So, nothing concrete but I'll have a dig around and see what I can find (sadly, when I bumped into Bob a couple of years ago I didn't ask him about his birthdate). --Roisterer (talk) 02:51, 12 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
