Did this guy go to college at all?

Other than being a popular writer for Discovery Magazine and Astronomy.com, does this writer have any education in science or is he simply just a journalist who found his way in through publishing? Does he have any academic credentials at all? After doing a number of searches including on his own website, why is there such a conspicuous absence (even in his recently published book with Robert Lanza) of any educational credentials that he may have acquired? I've been wondering the same thing. It's very hard to find any information on him whatsoever. I'm a huge fan of his books and columns, but I can never find out much about him other than what's stated in the article. I've never heard him mention any degrees or even formal training he has in astronomy, so I have always assumed he's just a writer who knows a ton about astronomy. However, I highly doubt if Marymount College would hire someone with no formal training in astronomy to teach a course on the subject. Also, there is no Overlook Observatory in Woodstock, NY. I've searched for it dozens of times, and the only place I find it mentioned is in Berman's biography. As for the Storm King Observatory, that appears to be run by the private Storm King School. Overlook Observatory is Berman's private observatory, see . With respect to the Storm King Observatory, Warren Mumford, a teacher at the school, seems to be responsible for the observatory. There is no mention anywhere of a director. Berman does, however, appear to have been involved in the original construction of the observatory, see . -- 92.2.67.52 (talk) 00:11, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Bibliography

I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. This is a work in progress; feel free to continue.
