Shipwreck?

[edit]

Is this a "shipwreck", sufficient to warrant an entry in a navbox?

AFAIR (Tremayne is upstairs and I haven't read it in a few years) this was no "shipwreck" in any conventional sense. Instead (AFAIR) structural failure tore a large hole in the hull - not destroying it, but letting water in. The boat then sank, but was recovered relatively easily. It was then considered to be uncompetitive in record terms and so was abandoned and destroyed, rather than seen as "wrecked" by the damage or sinking themselves.
