Two sources I find online—"Difference between Acid treated Gelatin and Alkali treated B Gelatin" (https://www.anec.org/en/difference-type-A-and-type-B-gelatin.htm) and "Distinguishing Type A AND Type B Gelatin – And Surprising Applications of This 'Multi-Talented' Ingredient" (https://global-ifi.com/blogs/gelatin-industry/distinguishing-type-a-and-type-b-gelatin-and-surprising-applications) —say that it's gelatin of type B (the alkaline-treated product), not A (acid-treated), that forms a stronger gel, one of higher Bloom number. The second of these sources appears to be merely commercial, but the first is published by ANEC, an official European standards organization.
On the other hand, the source cited in this article in respect of gelatin types—"Characterization and Correlation Analysis of Pharmaceutical Gelatin" (https://web.archive.org/web/20231215134811/https://digitalcommons.usf.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2364&context=etd) —says the opposite, assigning type A the higher Bloom number.
