General term
[edit]Hey, you might be being overly specific here. Blooming is a general term in the polymer industry. A lot of polymers are essentially pure hydrocarbon whereas most additives are quite polar, this is a source of incompatibility and over time they essentially try to phase separate (it's often described in terms of supersaturation). - Something like that, although its not really a behavior of polymers per se just of solid mixtures, there is chocolate blooming for example.--Project Osprey (talk) 13:22, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
