Culinary - pulp edible
[edit]In the article it's written "While the raw pulp is not edible". I bought some bitter orange for making marmalade and just ate some of the bitter oranges. Yes, they are sour and a little bit bitter but not bad at all. The pupl is edible and some people like the taste like me and other don't like it. It's less sour than an lemon. So of course it's edible! I suggest to correct it. --Buachamer (talk) 10:08, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
- Wikipedia works from the cited reliable sources, not from editorial knowledge. See WP:RS and WP:OR for details. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:39, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
- That's true but my experience show that the reliability of the source should be questioned. Here's a source that describes Seville as edible, too:
- "Are Seville/Sour Oranges Edible?
- You've probably figured this out already, since this is a food website, but yes - absolutely. They're not very tasty eaten out-of-hand, but they're wonderful to cook with, and feature prominently in a number of cuisines from around the world."
- (Personally I would describe the bitterness and sourness similar to a sour and bitter grapefruit. It's definitely edible) Buachamer (talk) 20:33, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
- The source is solid enough, but the wording is evidently confusing. I've tweaked it to close this OR-fest. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:14, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
