Compromise

[edit]

Let's try a compromise. If genocide is too loaded a word, massacre works as well, since it directs to the same article. If Bitlis was not part of Armenia politically but contained a population of ethnic Armenians, we can say that instead. And for now I don't think we need a specific source that Bitlis had a significant Armenian ethnic population since Bitlis is noted in the article Armenian Massacre as a place where the massacre ocurred; so there must have been some Armenians there to massacre, yes? Reference

[edit]

It would be nice to have a page number for Reference 2. Thatcher131 02:00, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duplication

[edit]

Hovik95 has been duplicating the articles for six of the Ottoman provinces. See The Six Armenian Vilayets. --Bejnar (talk) 20:22, 13 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Alternative names

[edit]

This article is related with a province (Bitlis Province) not with a city (Bitlis). So we mustn't add alternative names of the city of Bitlis. We can add alternative names of the province of Bitlis with reliable sources. Takabeg (talk) 06:41, 13 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

This article is eye-hurting to me

[edit]

I don't know if it is only just me but the whole page is so lacking, with unnecesarry information present and necesarry information not seeable. Youprayteas talk/contribs 19:13, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Issue of mention of armenians

[edit]

Moving here from User talk:188.119.21.20

You first (one a different IP) removed content from history for unclear reasons. Similar content added in a different spot, you then removed it saying it was too long for the intro. That was reverted, You then told someone to stop edit warring and claimed they where Armenian nationalist and reverted that last edit. Next revert you claim it is propaganda, then you claim it is backed up by Armenian nationalist sources. Please explain what the issue is and why you seemingly pretended the issue was about it being "too long" (its not). Also explain how its Armenian nationalist when there are 4 sources, only 2 of which are written by Armenians. Stop edit warring and have a discussion.
