Parrotfish erosion rate

[edit]

Does anyone have a rate of the erosion induced by parrotfish? Daniel Collins 20:51, 8 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

found one source saying it can be up to 9000 g/m^2/yr. doesn't have a reference or methodology for the data tho. Ungtss 23:28, 8 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

I know this page has been dormant for a very long time but in case anyone sees this: Does anyone know how to find any more information about bioerosion in an archaeological context? I was also thinking it would be a good idea to look into bioerosion caused due to climate change factors, and I think it would be important to address the different way bioerosion effects different reef systems globally.

I have a fairly good grasp on the way parrotfish, sponges, and polychaetes cause bioerosion, and I plan on adding new information on these organisms roles in the degradation of reef systems.

I would also like to mention I will be primarily working on marine bioerosion, but if I have the time I will also include what I can find on terrestrial bioerosion. Pet04361 (talk) 20:51, 30 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

At some point someone should also look into whether the images provided in the gallery are free use or of copyrighted material.Pet04361 (talk) 19:18, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Barnacles, Pufferfish, Sea Urchins, Gastropoda, =Coastal Bioerosion=, Bivalves, Chitons The above sections need to be added to fit current gaps left in the article. Also, actual text info needs to be added for the Bioerosion in the fossil record section.Pet04361 (talk) 21:01, 23 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
