[edit]I would suggest removing the "Miscelleneous" section from this page since it seems inappropriate to me. If anyone disagrees please let me know. If not I will remove it.

Actually, I disagree. The reason that it is important to keep it in in my view is that it allows those who are searching for it by name (which of course is how we use wikipedia) to find it.--Epeefleche 23:09, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
If that is the reason you put all those alternative names, then I suggest removing them from the artical and simply making REDIRECT pages for each alternative. That way no one will have to see all those names in the actual article but if somebody searches for the artical by one of those alternative names he will be automatically redirected to the Bint Jbeil article. The infobox currently lists the population of Bint Jbeil as "0". This is inconsistent with how Wikipedia handles municipalities affected by conflict. Per standard practice on comparable articles (e.g., Mariupol, Aleppo), Wikipedia uses the most recent reliable population estimate rather than a temporary wartime figure. Wartime displacement is appropriately described in the article body, not reflected as a "0" in the infobox.
I request the following changes:
1. Infobox population: Change "0" to "30,000" and change the population date back to the 2001 estimate already cited in the article. The current "0" is unsourced and does not reflect standard Wikipedia practice for conflict-affected locations.
2. Lead sentence: Change "was the second largest municipality" to "is a municipality" — Bint Jbeil continues to exist as a municipality in the Nabatieh Governorate. Present tense is standard for existing places per MOS:TENSE, regardless of damage or displacement. Khiax (talk) 20:33, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
Done I consider this to be uncontroversial as I can't imagine reasonably disputing that the edit request is doing anything but asking that the article be made to follow policies and guidelines (WP:V for infobox and MOS:TENSE for lead sentence). ⹃Maltazarian ᚾparleyinvestigateᛅ 21:34, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
