I am currently working at the Big Chute Marine Railway as an Interpretive Guide for Parks Canada, and could extend this article, by quite a bit. There are some good reference books by a man named James T. Angus, who lived in the community as a child.

There is quite a bit of history in the area, and since I'm an amateur expert on it, I'll add more as I go along. I'll try and bring more information from the site the next time I work. --chewbacca1010
