Copy violation?

[edit]

Does anyone think that parts of this are a copy violation from this site: http://www.rockabillyhall.com/bigal.html I am new here, so I don't know the procedure, but would appreciate it if someone more experienced could look into it. 62.253.128.12 15:36, 13 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

I have flagged this article as a possible copyright violation of the following site: http://www.rockabillyhall.com/bigal.html Parts of the article - namely Al Downing's biography seem to have been lifted from the above site. Any insight into this would be appreciated. Drable 15:57, 13 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

The Al Downing's biography is free license. Al Downing gave the datas to us as well, since we were Al Downing's exclusive management for Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. You can see the biography also under Celebrity Direct website, they were Al Downing's USA management. User:Bamacher 00:47, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Following this claim up. --Ngb ?!? 14:47, 1 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
Anyone can format and clean up the article, Bamacher. You don't need an administrator. Heck, you don't even need to be registered. -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 04:17, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Clean-up wikification done. Couldn't find any evidence of a copyright infringement and there was no argument for lack of neutrality so those tags have been removed. Madmedea 18:02, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

What form of "roots" music did he play?

[edit]

I have a question that I came upon while copyediting this article for the League of Copyeditors. In the Style section, one of Downing's musical styles is listed as "roots." There are currently four kinds of "roots" music listed on the Root (disambiguation) page: revival roots, American roots, roots/world music, and reggae roots. Which one did he play? Please clarify and link to the appropriate type. Galena11 21:52, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Al Downing (musician)Big Al Downing – Most sources seem to refer to him as Big Al Downing, including his AllMusic bio, the Joel Whitburn books, and almost every source I can find about him. Retrospectives on his career almost unilaterally include the "Big", and I could not find any sources that omit it.
