BHARWAD IS NOT GADARIYA

[edit]

Dear Google I am kishan Bharwad from gujarat. When I search about Bharwad community on Google I get wrong information about Bharwad community that Bharwad people are known as Gadria in Gujarat but in reality people of Bharwad community are mainly cow protect who keep them and keep buffaloes, goats or sheep while Gadaria people They simply keep sheep and goats and the Bharwad community is mainly from Gujarat whose history is connected with Gujarat. The main temple of Bharwad Samaj is at Banaskatha in Gujarat. Even the sub-branch of Gadaria Samaj does not match with Bharwad Samaj, the history of Both community are also different, so I request to investigate this matter and give due justice to Bharwad and Gadaria community 2409:40C1:400C:4936:4017:53FF:FECD:FB2A (talk) 14:37, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Remove Fake Claims

[edit]

Majority of people belonging to Bharwad community don't follow polyandry or child marriage system. Don't try to defame the whole Caste by spreading misinformation. Educated children/people of the Bharwad community living the same lifestyle most modern people follow in cities of Gujarat abiding Laws, simultaneously following cultural practices. Bharwad community has a commendable role in India's white revolution, though many have changed occupation from milk farming to modern economic jobs to overcome prejudices and racist behaviour towards them from rich and conservative political minds. ~2026-33592-70 (talk) 14:50, 7 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request to update outdated and inaccurate marriage customs

[edit]

I am requesting an update to the "Customs" section regarding Bharwad marriage practices. The current text relies heavily on "anecdotal evidence" regarding infant engagement and lacks neutrality, misrepresenting modern community realities. Official state documentation contradicts these claims.

Please update the section using the verified data from the Tribal Research & Training Institute (TRTI), Government of Gujarat.

  • Current text states: "There is anecdotal evidence that pet chandla... is practised..."
  • Proposed change: Clarify that clan exogamy is the strict norm and that actual marriages take place at legal adult ages, supported by official state records.

Suggested wording: "The Bharwad community adheres to strict clan exogamy regarding marriage. According to data from the Gujarat Tribal Research and Training Society, the preferred and practiced age of marriage is 18 to 20 years for females and 20 to 22 years for males, settled via family negotiation."
