Copyvio?

[edit]

While the wording is somewhat similar between this and the source, I think it is different enough to (while being consistent with the meaning of) the source text to not quite justify a speedy deletion as copyvio. The content added in later versions, apparently by the subject, is mostly a list of works. There are limits to how much such a list can be varied without deviating from what is factual.

If somebody still feels an urge to have this deleted, I think an AFD discussion is required. --Hegvald (talk) 07:39, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Birth dates and nationality

[edit]

Please see WP:BLPPRIVACY for the policy. " Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object. If the subject complains about the inclusion of the date of birth, or the person is borderline notable, err on the side of caution and simply list the year, provided that there is a reliable source for it. "

as for children and spouses: "The presumption in favor of privacy is strong in the case of family members of articles' subjects and other loosely involved, otherwise low-profile persons. The names of any immediate, ex, or significant family members or any significant relationship of the subject of a BLP may be part of an article, if reliably sourced, subject to editorial discretion that such information is relevant to a reader's complete understanding of the subject. However, names of family members who are not also notable public figures must be removed from an article if they are not properly sourced."

I will therefore restore the information. If this is challenged, please use the BLP noticeboard. But if the information was removed on request of the subject, that's another matter--please use OTTS or email to say so (I'm an arb, and can receive emails and keep them in confidence). I will wait 48 hours before restoring it just in case. . DGG ( talk ) 02:20, 31 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Books

[edit]

The books a person publishes is normally a very important factor in their notability. I am restoring it. Whether we include minor publications varies with the field and importance. I have therefore added back the books, since impeccable sources are available (WorldCat) and there is no possible justification for removing them. -- I'll check the others for importance tomorrow.
