Date of his First Election to Congress

[edit]

The Government Office section has no references. I found a reference for all of it, and I decided to correct a glaring error in this sentence: "In 1877 he was elected as a Republican to the 45th, 46th and 47th Congress. (March 4, 1877 – March 3, 1883)" Well, if he began his service there on March 4, 1877, he would have been elected in 1876. I changed that date, and I put in a reference. I also rewrote to clarify when he served as committee chairman. MiguelMunoz (talk) 02:41, 27 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
