University of Birmingham Benchball Society
[edit]A paragraph on the Birmingham society was added (not by me but by another member of the society) was added and then subsequently deleted. I will try to craft a new addition with some citations -- can I ask why exactly the previous one was removed? Hazza4569 (talk) 12:08, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
- I have removed this section again, feel free to open discussion but the sections on different University's felt unnecessary, repetitive and promotional (as you said, it was added by member's of the society). Think, would Netball have a section for each team playing it? TruestEditor (talk) 20:07, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
Citing Benchball and user-generated content
[edit]There is a significant Benchball community across several UK universities which, in my opinion, should be better represented in this article (given it seems to be the only place benchball is played as a competitive sport rather than as a miscellaneous activity in school physical education).
The problem here is that almost all of the official information about these societies is from what they share on their social media accounts (mostly Instagram). Probably the ideal solution would be for the societies themselves to maintain more formal resources, but unless that happens, most of the information available to us is from sources that would typically be considered unreliable. If anybody with more editing experience than me has ideas on how to tackle this please add them here. GSDiracula (talk) 12:42, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
