Request to update status post-acquisition
[edit]I am an employee of Employer.com and have a conflict of interest. I am proposing a neutral update to this article to reflect the current status of Bench Accounting following its acquisition. This company is now a USA based company.
Proposed article wording “Following its acquisition by Employer.com in December 2024, Bench Accounting’s platform and bookkeeping services continue to be operated under Employer.com’s ownership.”
This wording is intended to clarify that Bench’s services are presently active and ongoing, rather than defunct, following the acquisition.
Supporting sources Independently published reporting confirms the acquisition and indicates continuity of service under Employer.com:
Yahoo Finance (independent coverage of the acquisition): https://finance.yahoo.com/news/employer-com-acquires-canadian-accounting-075158568.html
CPA Practice Advisor (reporting on the acquisition and continuity of service): https://www.cpapracticeadvisor.com/2024/12/30/employer-com-set-to-acquire-bench-accounting/153755/
GeekWire (reporting that customers were informed their service would continue): https://www.geekwire.com/2024/bench-accounting-to-be-acquired-by-employer-com-following-abrupt-shutdown/
These independent sources indicate that Bench was acquired and that its bookkeeping platform and services are being continued, which supports present-tense phrasing.
Request to update infobox (if supported by sources) If the above wording is accepted, I am also requesting that the article’s infobox be reviewed and updated to reflect Bench Accounting’s current corporate status:
Company type: Subsidiary
Parent: Employer.com
I defer to neutral editors to determine whether the available sources support these infobox changes. Request to review executive leadership listing
I am also requesting that editors review the accuracy of the CEO listing in the infobox and article body. David Berens has left the company so if you can please update Jesse Tinsley as CEO and ~2026-48073-3 (talk) 19:02, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
