Requested factual corrections (COI—article subject)

[edit]

I am the subject of this article and have a conflict of interest, so I am requesting a correction rather than editing directly.

Current text: "In 2007 Perreau left NME.COM"—cited to a personal WordPress blog.

Requested text: "Perreau edited NME.com until October 2007, when he was succeeded as editor by David Moynihan."

Source: Press Gazette, "NME.com's David Moynihan named as new editor of Digital Spy", 17 December 2010: "Moynihan has been editor of NME.com at IPC since October 2007." https://pressgazette.co.uk/nmecoms-david-moynihan-named-as-new-editor-of-digital-spy

This also replaces a personal-blog citation with a trade publication, per WP:BLPSPS. Thank you for reviewing. Perreau (talk) 19:02, 1 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Requested additions: NME.com editorship (COI—article subject)

[edit]

I am the subject of this article and have a conflict of interest, so I am requesting these additions rather than editing directly. Thank you for the go-ahead on my previous request, which I have now actioned.

Two related additions about the NME.com editorship.

1. A succession box. The article has none. The site's editor line is documented across Wikipedia: NME names Brendan Fitzgerald as its first editor, records that I joined in 2004 as its third, and that David Moynihan joined as fourth in October 2007; Anthony Thornton (writer) states that he edited NME.COM from 1998 to 2003. The October 2007 handover is independently sourced to Press Gazette, already cited in this article. Proposed, at the foot of the article above the categories:

{{s-start}}
{{s-media}}
{{succession box|title=Editor of ''NME.com''|years=2004–2007|before=[[Anthony Thornton (writer)|Anthony Thornton]]|after=David Moynihan}}
{{s-end}}

2. One new sentence after the existing sentence about NME.COM, leaving that sentence unchanged:

"He was the site's third editor, and relaunched it in September 2005 with a shift in focus towards video, audio and the wider music community."

Source for the relaunch: Press Gazette, "NME new look", 22 September 2005 — https://pressgazette.co.uk/archive-content/nme-new-look/ — which reports that NME "has also revamped its website, NME.com, as part of the changes".

A note in the interest of transparency: "third editor" is stated at NME but is uncited there, so it rests on consistency between articles rather than on a source. I am flagging that rather than presenting it as sourced, and I am content for it to be dropped if you would prefer. The September 2005 relaunch and the succession box are both supported by Press Gazette.
