The text in question cites Said S. Samatar, Oral Poetry and Somali Nationalism (Cambridge: University Press, 1982), p. 133. As such, it is a verifiable source (regardless of whether this is true or false). Do you have a reliable source you can cite that refutes this claim? I saw some portions saying that the Darwiish efforts are over-emphasized, but nothing that specifies Beledweyne or the Darod regions. The index only gives pages xi, xiv-xv and 75 so if there is some other specific mention of Darwiish, you'll need to provide a page number. (Searching the document did not find any other ocurrences besides these.) In any case, rather than deleting the Said Samatar reference, I would suggest adding it in a manner such as: "However, authors Abdi Kusow and Mohamed Mukhtar disputes the extent of the Darwiish role in Somali nationalism" (although this doesn't refute, or really even address, the statement in question). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:01, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
