On ideology

Can someone explain what “Beja nationalism” means? Bakeduranium (talk) 17:58, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

Well, not in defense of what's here (which I did not add), but as someone with direct knowledge of Beja politics: Some people would very much like to see an independent Beja nation-state, comprising a significant portion of the Eastern Sudan. Many others would like to see the Sudan adopt a Federalist framework in which Beja people had significantly greater self-government. The Beja Congress for most of its history has advocated positions close to the latter. I'm not sure what the hopes were during the period of armed resistance. Pathawi (talk) 06:25, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
