Move to Beiardalen
[edit]Beiardalen is a proper noun and can not be translated at will. I searched through all English-language books in the national library and did not find any use of "Beiar Valley", while at least 19 books use "Beiardalen". Google Scholar does not find a single case of "Beiar Valley", but one case of "Beiarn Valley". In the Norwegian language nouns and proper nouns are many cases compounded in ways that may be intelligble only for those fluent in Norwegian. For instance letters like s, e or n may be added or removed according to tradition or for phonetic reasons. The move to "Beiar Valley" was unwarranted, there are 2 hits on the name in Google Books, whereas "Beiardalen" is commonly used in English language books. The "translation" of "Beiardalen" as "Beiar Valley" is most likely wrong according to the way compound nouns are made in Norwegian. — Erik Jr. 13:20, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
