History section of article

[edit]

Some dates would be useful in the first two sentences of this section. The manor of Elmham existed at the time of the Domesday book of 1086 (fact taken from the parish council article). It is hard to figure out when Beesley and Gressingham were separated into two parishes. From what is said in Wikipedia it could have been anywhere between 1086 and 1935. The parish council article mentions an Enclosure Act of 1774. It would be logical that the division happened at this time although this is not made clear.

Looking at Ordnance Survey boundary maps such as http://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/maps/sheet/os_maps_1900/Norfolk_1900 and http://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/maps/sheet/os_maps_revised_1944/Norfolk_1931_1944, the boundary between Beesley and Gressingham is most unusual. Why? This would be a good fact to include in your article.
