Cudham

Cudham and Pratts Bottom are nowhere near Becontree, being on the South East extreme of Greater London, whereas Becontree is to the North East of Greater London. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.137.34.25 (talk • contribs) 12:40, 17 September 2004.

Size

One part of the article says the B Estate is the largest public housing development in the world and another the largest council housing development in Europe (from which we can infer there is one bigger o/s Europe). Becontree in Ilford

Is any of the estate still in Ilford/Redbridge? Looking here a new ward of Becontree was created in 1994 to include land transferred from Redbridge to Barking and Dagenham. This corresponds to "north of Longbridge Road, to the south of Mayfield Road, and to the west of Goodmayes Park. It includes Becontree Avenue, Gainsborough Road, Butler Road, Campden Crescent, Lindsey Road and related development". Does that leave any part of the Becontree estate in Redbridge? Answering my own question using and a current map. This transfer pretty much exactly corresponds to the boundary of the estate. MRSC (talk) 15:26, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

Scope

Some of the sections of / statements in this article seem to be about the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, or its council, rather than about the estate in particular.

For instance, the schools. I don't know how the author has decided which schools etc serve the estate and s/he has not limited him/herself to schools that are physically within the estate's boundary, so I suspect this item in fact refers to the borough as a whole.

Alf Ramsey

The W/P article on Ramsey says he was born in a "quiet Essex village#, which it names as Dagenham. He was born in 1920, before building of the Becontree Estate began, so I don't see why he is classed as a resident of the estate. 82.46.163.160 (talk) 16:12, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
